A Secunda man has been reported to have killed his family with his mother-inlaw at their Secunda home on Friday morning.

The man who was identified as 50-year-old Carel Naude allegedly killed his 52-year-old wife, Lizelle Naude, their 16-year-old old disabled child and the mother of his wife who is 73.

Lizelle had failed to appear at the school where she worked as a teacher which became a concerned issue for the school as she is always diligent and punctual at work.

The Romans Security were tipped to access the Naude’s house which they did and it was a shocking moment for them as they found Lizzelle, her son and her mother lying dead on the bed according to police spokesperson Captain Gerhard Elmes.

Naude himself was later found in the toilet where he had shot himself from the mouth with a 9mm pistol seen on the ground of the toilet.

Encee van Huyssteen of The Bulletin Newspaper was also at the scene to gather reports,  “It is a real tragedy and shock. Neighbours were gathering at the scene shortly after the gruesome discovery.” she stated.

However, the reason behind the shooting is still yet to be established as the police have launched an investigation into the murder-suicide case.
