Domestic Worker strangles 2yr old baby to death, acted as if nothing happened when the mother arrived

The teenage suspect identified as Hope Istifanus reportedly killed Somkenechukwu by strangling her to death when nobody was at home with them. Hope was said to have prepared the girl in bed making her look like she was sleeping with the maid acting as nothing had happened.

16-year-old domestic worker has allegedly strangled the two-year-old daughter of her boss to death for reason still yet unknown.

The teenage suspect identified as Hope Istifanus reportedly killed Somkenechukwu by strangling her to death when nobody was at home with them.

Hope was said to have prepared the girl in bed making her look like she was sleeping with the maid acting as nothing had happened.

The mother of the baby arrived from the market and saw her baby on the bed laying down, she asked the maid about her daughter and she replied telling her that Somkenechukwu had played so much that she bathed her and fed her some food before she slept off.

The victim’s mother waited for four hours of which she had expected her daughter to have wakened up but didn’t, so she decided to wake her up to her self according to a concerned neighbour whose name was not mentioned.

“Efforts by the mother to wake up Somkenechukwu proved abortive, as she neither turned nor showed any sign of life. This prompted the mother to rush the baby to the hospital, accompanied by the maid, where the baby was pronounced dead, showing signs of strangulation. That was when all eyes turned to the maid and after interrogation, she admitted to having committed the act, which she attributed to the devil.” the neighbour stated.

The Imo State Police have confirmed the arrest of the suspects adding that she will remain in their custody at MCC Road Police Station until the investigation is fully carried out.
