Alleged gang leader of the Junior Cisko Yakkies “Yakuza” has applied for bail after being charged with 18 crimes including conniving with corrupt cops at Delft Police Station to smuggle drugs into prison and withdraw 20 other charges against him.
The gang leader, Lee Petersen allegedly paid off officers to assist him in his criminal activities.
More than 20 cases of attempted murder, possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition, possession of drugs, stolen property, dangerous weapons, and intimidation were withdrawn against Petersen after charges were dropped at Delft SAPS.
Cellphones found in possession of the gang leader had communication between him and a police officer about drugs and firearm purchases.
According to the Daily Voice, the officer from Delft SAPS was being paid R500 to smuggle drugs to a JCY skollie on trial at Bellville Court.
Petersen is expected to appear at Bellville Magistrates Court on January 17 to continue with his bail application.
He is facing 18 charges including dealing in drugs, possession of ammunition and theft of a motor vehicle.
Court papers revealed that there were 44 murders and 28 attempted murders in the JCY Yakuza territory in Delft from 1 April to 9 December 2019.
